Enrollment

There are two checkboxes on a study record that control the types of enrollment you can configure. The checkboxes are labeled "Limited" and "Public" and they both default to unchecked when you create a study.

There are 4 types of study enrollment. The following grid will explain the different combinations of the two checkboxes and how the app will work with each configuration.

Open Enrollment	FALSE	FALSE	Anyone can download the app and create a user and join your study. This configuration requires a user to register or login with an existing user account. User registration requires you to have an authentication task in the public group.
Limited Enrollment	TRUE	FALSE	Anyone can download your app but they cannot create a user or register unless they enter their email and a 4 digit code that is emailed to the user when they are enrolled to the study. This configuration requires a user to register or login with an existing user account. User registration requires you to have an authentication task in the public group.
Public Open Enrollment	FALSE	TRUE	Anyone can download your app and participate in the study anonymously
Public Limited Enrollment	TRUE	TRUE	Anyone can download your app and participate in your study anonymously but they must enter their email and a 4 digit code that is emailed to the user when they are enrolled to the study.

You can manually add users to the study by using the enrollment interface from the study view page. For each enrolled user defined, you enroll them in a specific group. For Public Limited Enrollment studies, you must enroll the user into the "All" group. You cannot enroll a user into more than one group. If you assign a user to a group and they are already enrolled in a different group, the system will automatically unassigns that user from that group and reassign that user to the new group.

Authenticated Users see tasks assigned to the group they belong to

NOTE: All registrations that happen without an invite, are enrolled to the "All" Group automatically otherwise the group assigned during the invite process is used.

Limited Enrollment Process

An access code is provisioned by Medable that is linked to the email
Access code is unique per study
User gets Access Code in Email and download link for the app
User enters email address and access code in app before they can do anything in the app
Public Tasks - Elgibility and Consent show individually if they exist in the public group
Tasks are displayed per the flow rules defined in the group
Registration/Login
Authenticated Users see tasks assigned to the group they belong to

Public Open Enrollment Process

Axon Admin invites users or users can just download the app and sign up
Public Tasks - Elgibility and Consent show individually if they exist in the public group.
Tasks are displayed per the flow rules defined in the group.
The user is brought to their "My Activities" screen so that they can participate in the study

Public Limited Enrollment Process

An access code is provisioned by Medable that is linked to the email
Access code is unique per study
User gets Access Code in Email and download link for the app
User enters email address and access code in app before they can do anything in the app
